This is a paid administrative, fully-remote position in which the intern will shadow Take on College staff in order to learn how programming for a nonprofit is planned and executed. The intern will be paid a stipend of $600 from May to September. This position is 2-5 hrs a week.

    The Details: 

    What is the ToC Advance Program?

    This program focuses on providing students with project management experience and leadership skills early on in their college careers. Students will work with the ToC administrative team to plan, develop, and organize our flagship program: the Summer Fellowship Program (SFP). There is potential for permanent positions with the administrative team after the internship is over.

    What is the Summer Fellowship Program?

    This free 7-week program focuses on enriching low-income and first-generation high school students who are applying to college through workshops and one-on-one mentorship. Students will walk away with a completed personal statement, knowledge on creating a college list, and an understanding of paying for college through financial aid and scholarships.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead 15 first-generation and low-income students in an intensive 7-week college preparatory program through Take on College 

    • Collaborate with mentors and peers to develop valuable workshops and foster relationships

    • Develop presentations, workshops, and detailed lesson plans

    • Plan and post social media posts related to the SFP

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Incoming undergraduate first-year (Class of 2027)

    • Past SFP and FMP mentees are welcome to apply! 

    • Interest in nonprofit and/or education field

    • Self-starter
